Frequently Asked Questions
Will my baby get a family doctor at the GMF La Cigogne after birth?
We cannot guarantee the follow-up of your child at the clinic after your pregnancy follow-up given the new government laws which now govern the registration of new patients. However, our dedicated nurses will make sure to offer you an appointment around 2-4 weeks of your newborn's life.
The walk-in clinic triage is complete, what should I do?
New places from the walk-in clinic become available at noon for the next day and new slots are regularly added in the morning during the triage by the nurse. If your situation is urgent and there is no availability, call 811 for help.
Emails to secretaries asking to be added to the walk-in clinic will not be processed.
If your emergency concerns an injury (wound, fracture) or an asthma attack, you can also consult the up clinic in Quartier Dix-30, for pediatric clients only. It is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary for injuries. Please refer to their website.
What should I do when my doctor or NP's schedule is full, for regular follow-up?
If your doctor/NP's schedule is full, please note that the new available slots open on the 20th day of each month (or the next business day).
Also short notice appointments are available 24 to 36 hours in advance for more urgent situations. Please check the schedule regularly.
If your situation is not urgent, but requires a visit before the availability offered, please contact your doctor's administrative assistant.
